Letters and engraving : of Thomas Jefferson : [multimedia], 1792-1873.

In his letter, 1792 Dec. 25, to Robert Rutherford, Jefferson writes regarding uniform standards in weights and measures, now pending in Senate committee, and formerly considered by a House of Representatives committee; his preference for a decimal system; and whether the public is ready for reform. On 1810 Sept. 17 Jefferson orders the First Pennsylvania Bank to pay John Barnes dividends due to the stock of Thaddeus Kosciuszko. On 1820 April 11, Monticello, Jefferson writes Matthew Carey, thanking him for a copy of the New Olive Branch. Finally, there is also an engraving, ca. 1873, of Jefferson from an original painting by Chappel.
